Seven.Caged.Tigers

Tomorrow is Halloween and Zack is going to be a penguin.  A penguin you ask?  Well, while I stood in front of the costumes at Joann Fabrics, I called my husband.  I already knew which one he would choose.  He’s something of a Linux geek.  Penguins are cool in Linux land.

Zack is also playing on the stairs now.  We had to take down the blockade at the bottom because he was climbing over it.  Honestly if he’s going to fall down the steps I’d prefer he not his something with distinct edges.  Guess what?  He fell today and he was perfectly fine.  Some tears, some fear, but he was fine.  In any case, here’s a picture of him playing in his new space.

It is definitely and finally fall here in Michigan.  The leaves are falling/have fallen and everything is mushy with rain and wetness.  It’s not all bad–I kind of like fall.  Zack is now appreciating his first real autumn, too.  All he wants to do is go outside (not really all that possible when it is raining) and go for walks.  He’s a pretty active little guy.  He also is loving the leaves.  Can’t say I’m one to complain about a kid enjoying the outdoors.  Heck, he doesn’t watch any television so he’s gotta do something with himself.

We’ve also had a lot of projects going on.  We put up a fence to block crazy lady, her piles of crap, and the mean doberman.  It actually looks pretty good.  Jeremy is finishing up on putting new boards up on the garage.  We’ll be painting it shortly.  Finally, the front porch (enclosed) has been painted and we’ve done a bunch of drywall work.  Jeremy took out the janky drop ceiling and replaced it with a “normal” drywalled one.  It looks great.  We also are painting it yellow and have painted the metal furniture white to blend.  We hope to get started on the big bathroom remodel shortly.

Lots of projects in an attempt to sell our home within the next year.
