FINALLY! Zack is getting two more teeth. That will put his total at 6. Still not enough for a steak, but we’re getting there…
Well, I survived yet another weekend. It was nice having Jeremy home for four days straight. I got a little help around the house for once. Just kidding. He helps quite a bit actually. In any case, Zack enjoyed his time too. Here are a few pics from his recent adventures.

Seriously, nothing new. Zack is still cute and is still “Zack.” He’s not walking yet, but he is getting very close. I expect it soon-ish. Of course we’ve been saying he’d grow more teeth for the last few months to no avail. He’s still got his four bunny teeth with no more in sight. Someday…

I guess I’ve been lucky to never know anybody who has died in war. In many parts of the world, I would be the rarity. No such luck any longer. This isn’t to say I still knew this individual, but I did in high school and when I ran track. He was two or so years younger than me. Bobby Dixon (Robert J. Dixon), from Minneapolis and formerly of Gladwin, has died in Iraq. It feels really strange–I actually hurt because of it. A war I don’t agree with and that continues to kill kids, women, and men has killed another innocent. Thousands of people from all around the world are dying. I admittedly don’t know anything about him as adult, but I feel like digging up his old running pictures I took for yearbook and that still live among the piles.
It’s all so surreal. A war I hate is killing people. Soldiers aren’t doing anything wrong but still they suffer. My head spins. This is the second death from my small hometown of only 3000 residents. I didn’t know the first–I didn’t even know his name. But this one I once knew.
So much good has happened in the last year. A year ago, on Mothers Day, I had an awful time. Zack was over a week old and was still in the hospital. He didn’t have a good day, either, if memory serves. I was very sad. Well, this year Zack is doing brilliantly on all levels and has developed into quite a little spitfire (to put it mildly). Jeremy, Zack, and I spent the afternoon at Kensington Metropark. It was lovely–not too warm or cold and very sunny. Zack spent much of the time hitting on ladies. It’s something he’s gotten quite good at.
A few pics from the trip:
Zack really, really likes his new Step 2 Crabbie Sandbox. Of course he spends some of his time eating the sand, some of the time spreading it all over his body, and still more of the time taking handfuls and filling his buckets and trucks. Here are some pictures of his new toy(s). It was a gift from my parents…
…and on his new rocking horse…

My baby boy is one year old!!!!! Time has really flown by.
My husband said another funny thing the other day. He picked up a wallet of the picture below and said to me “guess which Addams Family character this photo reminds me of.” I didn’t even hesitate. This picture now is referred to as “Baby Fester.” That is all.
