Computer Broken Pt. 4

Monday, February 26th, 2007

So for the fourth time in a year, my laptop has gone belly up losing every bit of info I once stored on it.  This is becoming something more than a mere inconvenience.  It’s a travesty committed by HP and Best Buy.  In any case, this should be the four time is a charm for the store to lemon my computer out.  I wanted to add that these haven’t been small issues.  I’ve lost what will be three motherboards, at least one hard drive, and the internal power supply/USB connectors in the past year. There’s probably more but I think 3 motherboards speaks for itself…bah…

So I’m back on JT’s computer much to his chagrin.

Zack and I have been sick.  Not like throwing up or anything serious, but we’ve had either a cold or the flu.  No fevers fortunately.  That said my nose has been running like a faucet, my eyes are swollen and red and teary, and I’ve got some pressure in my sinuses.  At first it felt like allergies but then I realized it is February and darned near impossible to have that problem.  I’m in the process of recovering.  Zack got sick from me so he’s got another day or two to feel better.

I feel bad because the poor little guy had to miss swimming.  I didn’t want him to get other kids sick.  He feels pretty good (as have I) but looks like hell.  I guess this makes up for the fact that I didn’t get sick last year at all.

Swim Time Zack

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

My son adores swimming–be it in a pool or bathtub. He had his third swim lesson on Tuesday and I took plenty of pictures. Yeah they are a little yellow and a little dark, but you get the point. He enjoys himself.

your humor style:
CLEAN | SPONTANEOUS | DARK

Your humor’s mostly innocent and off-the-cuff, but somehow there’s something slightly menacing about you. Part of your humor is making people a little uncomfortable, even if the things you say aren’t themselves confrontational. You probably have a very dry delivery, or are seriously over-the-top.Your type is the most likely to appreciate a good insult and/or broken bone and/or very very fat person dancing.

Four New

Monday, February 12th, 2007

Zack is 9 months old now. He had his doctor’s appointment and it went well. He’s on track for everything and well ahead on all the physical/movement things. As for size, well, he’s actually “normal.” For a baby born when he was he’s in the 50th percentile for height and 25th for weight. He’s 28.5 inches long and 19lbs 1oz heavy. If you adjust it for his prematurity he’s closer to the 75th and 50th percentile. Regardless he’s by no means a chunky baby.

Jeremy was looking through Zack’s old photos today and noted that fact exactly. He said that the little guy no longer has chubby cheeks nor does he have a wrinkle of fat in his forearm that used to exist. If there is one thing I never expected, it was to have a vaguely thin baby. I was a huuuuge baby while Jeremy, I guess, was actually closer to this size. Hopefully it means that Zack will still be a tall man. I’m betting he will considering our heights and the fact that he has big hands.

Anyway, here are a few new pics for you to enjoy.

Cold

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Once upon a time I wasn’t particularly moved by cold one way or another.  I guess it was when I lived in Sault Ste. Marie.  You know, it’s awfully chilly up there.  It was nothing for cold to become “snot freezing cold.”  Much colder than than -20 wind chill we’ve had in Southeast Michigan as of late.  We’re talking -20 real temps with -40 wind chills.  My school was never canceled either.  I’d just bundle up and trudge up the hill to classes.

And darn it all, Zack’s swim classes were canceled this week because of school being canceled.  I just hope pottery is  on for tonight.  That would be tragic.  I’ve got a lovely bowl (my best ever?) to tool down tonight.
