Shelly Studio

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

So I just got around to visiting the Mitte residence and taking my own studio pictures. The results are pretty good (if I do say so myself). Zack was a willing, if not somber, participant. I used my little Rebel and his set up. These pics haven’t been cropped nor have they been fed through any bit of Photoshop (yet). Enjoy. And Cheryl (and Robin) you know which ones are dedicated to you!

Sears Take 3

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

Well, Zack had his 8 month portraits taken today. He wasn’t nearly as smiley or cooperative as he’s been in the past but I’m still pleased with the results of his photo shoot. Enjoy the new shots

.

…and yes, his famous tongue and fish face made an appearance.

The Usual Updates

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

So I said I’d upload some brand new Zack photos. Here they are…and yes, this really is all that is going on in my life. Aside from pottery on Wednesdays this little guy is my world. Jeremy, too, but family is where it is at these days.

He’s the Man

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

I’ll be uploading some new pictures soon, but I have to share some Zack ones with you. Enjoy. I swear he’s getting cuter (and smarter) every day. He’s also pushing his walk/riding toy without any help. It’s actually more than slightly terrifying.

And You?

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak “Standard English straight out of the dictionary” but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like “Are you from Wisconsin?” or “Are you from Chicago?” Chances are you call carbonated drinks “pop.”

Escapade

Monday, January 8th, 2007

Big fat Dewey went on a big fat vacation yesterday.  I shut him on the front porch but unfortunately the front door wasn’t latched.  He squeezed his big fat butt out into the wilds of Hartland.  I’m not sure how much time he spent out there, but he came to the back door when he deemed his escapade complete.  I also don’t think he liked it very much.  He’s definitely an indoor cat.  Unfortunately he also definitely rolled in a dirt pile. Stupid kitty.

2007

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

It is hard for me to believe that 2007 is here.  2006 was a very big year for me–mostly because of the birth of Zack.  He’s brought such joy (and responsibility!  and poop!) to my life.  And to Jeremy’s.  We’re both very happy to have him around even if he insists on being very, very mobile.

I don’t have any plans really for this year.  No worries.  Zack won’t be getting a little bro or sis for a while longer and definitely no announcements on that front for 2007.  I hope to get away from him some and go on some mini-vacations.  I also hope to get some house projects done–namely the bathroom fixed and tiled and cute-ed up and maybe some painting.  Painting is cheap.  I like painting.

Pottery is something else that is on my plate.  The local community ed has a great class.  I took it last semester and will take it this semester (and probably for a few semesters even after that).  I hope to get decent enough to feel comfy giving my “pieces of art” to family and friends.  I sure as hell can’t keep on making them into cat dishes or “dip” dishes.  I have every confidence that I will get better and I will make a beautiful bowl or twelve.

Zack has swimming classes starting this month too.  I know he’s only 8 months old, but swimming is very important for him.  Rockall is an island and he will be there this summer.  He’s gotta know how to float people.  Plus, I was a mere five months when I began to swim.  One with think an active, bath-loving baby should take to a lovely indoor swimming pool.  Second thought, he’ll probably poop in his swimmy diaper every time he gets in the warmth.  That’s my luck.

Yeah, so, plans for this year?  To be a mommy.
