So what. I’m a freak. I’m still following American Idol. Not that I’ve ever called to vote or anything….anyway. Last night marked the end of Nikki’s improbable run into the final three. She was cut from the roster leaving for the finals just Kelly (my expected winner) and Justin (who won’t stop singing what I consider to be dentist office Muzak). Anyway, next week we’ll see who the actual American Idol 2002 will be. I’ve got my fingers crossed that somebody (whom I hope will be Kelly) will win.

After somewhat of a hiatus, I’m back and better than ever. OK. Not really. I’m just back at work and back to the living world. I’ve spent the past four (or more!) days helping my husband deal with the death of his grandfather. He was very close to him and we saw him the day that he had his stroke and the day that he died (just under two weeks later). It was a sorrowful time yet there is comfort in the fact that he didn’t feel any pain and that he never was unable to do for himself up until the day he had his stroke.

So with that sad chapter closed, our lives shall return to “normal.”

I’m unsure as to how tonight’s vote on American Idol is going to pan out. Nikki McKibbin really came through. I loved her rendition of Mary Jane from Alanis Morissette. Her Melissa Etheridge was also rather impressive. Tamyra Gray really flubbed up her first song, but her second (despite my dislike of the actual track) was pretty good. Kelly Clarkson was AWESOME. I liked her It’s Raining Men from the Weathergirls. Her second song (Celine Dion…ack!) was also rather impressive. I’m starting to think she has a really great change. Justin Guarini was mediocre and really didn’t sound like a star last night.

It rained for much of the day yesterday. Today seems to be starting out much the same. The temperature has finally fallen to a decent level. It really is too bad that I am forced to spend my days inside behind a desk. Though, I suppose, if it wasn’t for my employment I wouldn’t have so much fun shopping

Time to whine a little. See I just saw this really horrible story on TV. Some rich little 12 year old got the car (yes car!) of her dreams. Keep in mind, she is 12 and she is rich. What did this little Princess get? Well, she was purchased by her father Eminem’s 1999 purple Ford Mustang. What the hell does this brat need with any car, much less that car, at that age? I mean come on! What is this teaching her? That if you want something material bad enough daddy will buy it? Great way to raise your kid you reject.

Also, last night American Idol votes were tallied. This time, young Mr. RJ Helton was kicked off. That leaves Tamyra Gray, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, and Nikki McKibben. It’s strange that Nikki is still there. Why? Well, compared to the other three she’s not too talented. I suspect she’ll be eliminated next week leaving Tamyra, Kelly, and Justin to duke it out. Any one of the three could be the next American Idol. All three should have little trouble pursuing a career in music.

Which Evil Criminal are You?

It’s Monday. I’m happy to be done with the weekend (isn’t that insane?) I spent Friday night by myself. But come Saturday I was busy attending a wedding. Fortunately, the wedding was absolutely lovely. Congratulations go out to the new Andrea and Jeff Kong! Woo-hoo! It was a nice evening with yummy food. I couldn’t have asked for a better free night of entertainment.

Sunday was full of Family Reunion. Not my own, not really Jeremy’s either. I don’t really want to explain, but I was at least grateful for a day in the sun and park.

It’s a miracle. An absolute miracle…I have finally figured out Flash after years of struggling with the concept of a timeline. Thank yous are due to Mike Gatto from Enlighten who broke through my apparent mental blockage. Don’t assume I’m a professional…yet. I just have the basics figured out enough so that I will be allowed to further explore. Yeah!
