Considering my MASSIVE collection of fonts (nearly 20,000) this quiz only seemed appropriate

I’ve actually got pictures of the fires in Colorado. If you’d like to view them, click one of the following four links: picture 1, picture 2, picture 3, picture 4. Apparently, Durango is still burning strong. Even more people have been evacuated.
Last night, the second installment of American Idol (second of three, each featuring ten semi-finalists) aired on Fox. I was happy to see Alexandra fail miserably. The girl was probably the absolute worst of the twenty aired thus far. That somehow seems fair considering she apparently thinks she’s much cooler than she actually is. I’ll tune in tonight to see who makes it on to the next round.
Cheryl is also still working on the Zepp autographs. Apparently, it’s coming along well. Her friend has now been given Page’s home phone number in person. He’s been spending hours with the man. A prospect I can’t even imagine sitting at my desk in Mid-Michigan.
Much, much more excitement. Lindsay has now been evacuated from Durango. Yikes.
My sister also e-mailed me. Her best friend in England is in the studio with Robert Plant (yes, that Robert Plant) working on a 4-CD Boxed Led Zeppelin set. He’s promised to get me an autograph if the opportunity arises. I think I’ll die.
This past weekend few by. I managed to see Monster’s Ball, Halle Berry’s Oscar-winning performance. It was a good movie, although the hubby yearned for some action and adventure. Eh, whatever…we got the film for free from Blockbuster thanks to their guarantee.
On Saturday, we went to a wedding of college friends Nick and Kiisa. They’ve been together for over five years now so it was about time they got married. A whole herd of us were at the wedding/reception. It really was a great time and a great surprise to see one of my old Poli Sci buds from college. I guess there were a total of about 15-20 of us. Like I said, a really GREAT time. I miss all those people.
This morning, I just found out that Durango, Colorado is now on fire. That’s where my Sister In Law, Lindsay, is DNR. I hope that all is well for her, but I also know that one of her plots has already burned down. Yikes.
Well, it was a ridiculous 95 degrees yesterday. I was sweating like a pig. Not very ladylike if you ask me
Anyway, last night was the live show to choose the first three final contenstants who will compete to be the next American Idol. Here are the three profiles of those who were chosen by what amounts to over 3,000,000 callers. Yowza!

So I survived another weekend. It was actually pretty packed with stuff to do. We had tons of visitors (strange, considering nobody ever show up randomly), a cold and windy picnic on Saturday, and a dinner of Sunday. Actually on Sunday we treated my pop to Outback Steakhouse for father’s day. He loved it (of course). Also, spent tons of time fertilizing the yard and killing weeds…oh and that darned mole, too.
BTW: For those of you living under a rock, the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup this past Thursday. It wasn’t much of a shock considering that the team is the best to ever grace the ice. Anyway, there is going to be a parade in downtown Detroit this morning. I of course can’t be there, but it should be pretty interesting to see the replays on television this evening ![]()
If you read this often at all or know me in “real life,” you’d already know that I’m a sucker for reality TV. Of course, this isn’t applied to all shows but Real World, Road Rules, Survivor, and Big Brother all make the cut. Fox has now outdone themselves. They’ve taken a show already (from what I can tell) adapted to the WB as Pop Stars and made it into their own American Idol. The show was initially produced and aired in Britain. Now the Fox version, American Idol is making waves stateside. I don’t like pop music, but I love seeing Simon destroy their bloated opinions of themselves. The field has been narrowed from 10,000 to 100+ to 65 to 45 and finally to 30. These thirty hot girlies and boys are going to sing live on national TV for the shot at a solo record deal.
The funniest thing is that former Pop Star contestant Alexandra Bachelier is now trying her hand at this contest to. The girl has to get over herself and realize that she’s not all that and that the title rightfully belongs to the likes of Justin Guarini. Wow does that guy have a voice, and not one of a pop star either.
Voluntary Castration? Oh yes, and it happened in a suburb of Detroit in which my husband’s best friends live and he used to live before we were married…get the nasty story here:

Will these tests never end. God I’m a nerd. BTW…congrats to the Red Wings who are now up in the Stanley Cup finals 3 games to 1 over the Hurricanes. I have a bit of a soft spot for the Canes because of some Lake Superior State University connections with Bates Battaglia. He was on the Lakers when I was hockey writer/sports editor at LSSU and lived in the same housing complex (all the hockey players lived in the Townhouses).
You are 40% evil! [?]
I was flipping through the TV this weekend and happened upon the very end of the MTV movie awards. I stopped for a moment because they were recognizing the winner of the virtual acceptance speech. As I watched, the improbable happened. The winner was James from Gladwin, Michigan. Considering I was born and raised in Gladwin and that the city is VERY small (like 2500 people on a good day), it was a shock. Now, I wonder who exactly James is ![]()
I hear about parents freaking out on referees and coaches all too often. Seriously…your 7-year-old’s soccer game isn’t that important. In fact, the only actual value in your child playing sports is in the fun they are having. If you neglect to make it fun for them, they will in turn not be satisfied.
The most recent happening was with a Troy father who went ballistic on a young teenager acting as referee for his 7-year-old’s soccer game. Yup, he attacked a teen for god knows what completely unimportant reason. Get a life people, please make it seperate from that of your child.
